Pulmonary Embolism Response Team

When faced with a sudden medical issue such as a pulmonary embolism, time is of the essence. It's important that you seek the care of physicians trained to respond immediately.

That’s why we launched a Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) that helps patients with pulmonary embolism (blood clots in vessels of the lungs). The program is led by Dr. Parth Rali, a founding member of the National Pulmonary Embolism Response Team Consortium dedicated to guiding and influencing care and research of pulmonary embolism in the United States.

Our Pulmonary Embolism Response Team is made up of clinical specialists from:

  • Pulmonary and critical care
  • Interventional radiology
  • Cardiology
  • Emergency medicine
  • Diagnostic radiology
  • Clinical pharmacy
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Hematology
  • Cardiovascular surgery
  • Academic hospitalist and nursing staff

This multidisciplinary team quickly and effectively collaborates to provide care for patients experiencing acute pulmonary embolism in a time sensitive manner. Our approach to treatment means patients receive important care quickly and are closely monitored.
