Pathology & Laboratory Medicine

Many decisions a doctor makes about patient care are based on the results of tests performed in a lab or a report from an experienced pathologist. For this reason, it is critical that patients are offered the right tests, accurate results and the keen eye of board-certified pathologists when it comes to their care.

Temple Health’s clinical laboratories perform more than two million tests each year and occupy 80,000-square-feet of space, allowing us to house some of the latest technology available today. Temple pathologists are also on the cutting edge of research, actively investigating a number of areas, including genomic imprinting, the role of oncogenes in cancer, the mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy in ovarian and breast cancer and the use of stem cells in myocardial repair.
